DCY Swim Shines at 2025 Y National Championship

Swimmers pose on the deck at the 2025 YMCA Nationals

The DCY SWIM team made a powerful splash at the 2025 YMCA National Championship meet in Greensboro, NC, marking our largest Nationals group since before the pandemic! With five incredible athletes representing DCY on the national stage — and six qualifiers overall — our team showed up stronger than ever.
Although one of our swimmers was sidelined due to injury just before the trip, Daylia Sund, Julia Michalski, Sue Mann, and Megan Quaderer competed in both individual and relay events, proudly qualifying for the 200 Free and Medley Relays. Both relays came thrillingly close to breaking team records, clocking in as the second-fastest relay times in DCY history!

Individual Highlights Include:

  • Julia Michalski: 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke
  • Daylia Sund: 100 & 200 Breaststroke
  • Sue Mann: 50 Freestyle
  • Thomas Kratcha: 100 Breaststroke
  • Megan Quaderer: Relay team powerhouse
  • Daylia Sund led the charge with a 28th-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke, just shy of the finals — a phenomenal national showing!

The team also took advantage of time trial opportunities, where we saw several personal bests:

  • Megan Quaderer: 50 Free & 100 Breast
  • Sue Mann: 100 Free
  • Thomas Kratcha: 100 Free

We’re thrilled to announce two new team records set this season:

  • Julia Michalski: 200 Free – 1:58.58
  • Daylia Sund: 100 Breaststroke – 1:05.45

As we celebrate this incredible season, we want to give special recognition to Sue Mann and Julia Michalski, who have wrapped up their careers with DCY SWIM in true champion style. These outstanding athletes now head off to college, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, sportsmanship, and excellence.
Congratulations to all of our swimmers — you’ve made DCY proud!
